Starlink Mounting
Before Installing your system you need to ask some very important questions
1 - Roof mount? Wall/Eve Mount ? Pole Mount? Mounting high upon on the roof or Eve will clear most if not all trees.
Pole Mounts are extra as the labor and materials
involved - Pole, Cement, Conduit, Digging
We DO NOT recommend mounting ON a Metal Roof -
Mounting to the Eve of the roof is best
If you prefer a Roof Mount or Eve Mount let your installer
know when you speak with them.
2 - Will the cable that comes with the system be long enough? You may have to choose a different mounting location for you Satellite... or order a longer cable. Cables CANNOT be made up on the spot, they MUST be ordered. Typically you will receive a 50 foot Network cable with your Starlink System. You may need to order a 75, 100, or 150 foot cable prior to installation. Look at where you prefer to have the dish mounted and where you want the router installed in the house.
3 - Be sure to discuss with the family where you want the router to be located - The router does have built-in WiFi, so being centrally located in the house is often best. If you plan to use a MESH system please read up on it. Starlink offers a Mesh System for their product. You can also find nice Mesh Systems on Amazon.
4 - ASK any question you can think of... Not asking only means a bit of confusion on day of installation... We would rather answer your questions now and avoid any confusion or misinterpretation.
5 - Did you order the Residential or Commercial unit? The tech will need to know this if he/she will be bringing mounting hardware.
6 - Will you be using the Wireless router that comes with the Starlink or will you be using a Mesh System or Access Points or do you want all devices to be hardwired?? Discuss this with the installer on the phone PRIOR to scheduling date.
7 - When talking with the installer let them know the type system you have - The High Performance system comes with an 8m cable - will that be long enough to mount your dish and run into your home where you want the router placed? Also, the HIGH PERFORMANCE system is a FLAT Mounting system, which means it lays FLAT, if you need a mounting attachment either order it or let the tech know so they can try to get one.
*** PLEASE Let the installer know ahead of time if you desire cables to be run in the Attic or Crawl Space under the house

Things to consider when using the Self Install Kit.
LIMIT TREES! The Starlink App has a tool called "Check for Obstructions" that shows you the satellite obstructions from the ground. The higher you go on the eve/roof, the less trees are in the oval. Download the app (""Starlink App"" on your Android/Apple device) - and test BEFORE you buy Starlink.
The Starlink dish does produce a small amount of heat. It uses a tiny amount of power and will melt a light dusting of snow off. It will also melt heavy snow, but it takes some time.
How are you going to get the cable into the house? This really needs to be thought out before you install. The end of the cable is 5/8 inch wide and will need a large hole drilled in the wall. WATCH WHERE YOU DRILL! Walls contain gas pipes, water pipes and electrical wiring. Hitting these can be fatal. You can use a 5/8th inch spade bit to drill the hole.
DO NOT cut or alter the Starlink Cat6a cable in any way.
Be mindful of drilling holes in your roof.
Use the included sealant CORRECTLY, or you MAY have water problems later on.
